We represent taxpayers of owner-occupied single-family residential homes, and condominiums.  We do not represent income-producing properties.


Informal Review and/or Appeal to the Board of Equalization

First, we require the taxpayer to sign an Authorization of Representation document. After receiving this document, we charge $1,000 to perform the Informal Review/submit to the Assessor, and/or the Appeal to the Board of Equalization. Unlike other tax agents, we do not charge a percentage of the savings.

The last day to submit the Informal Review is the last day of May. The last day to submit an appeal to the Board of Equalization is the last day of June.  

We will review your property, view images submitted to us by the property owner, take into account any information provided by the homeowner such as deferred maintenance/external obsolescence/drainage issues/traffic influences, research sales considered most comparable to your property, and present this information to the Tax Assessor and/or the Board of Equalization. 

Our goal is to get the appraised value of your property as low as possible by presenting sales that are considered most similar to the subject property.


Assessor Appeal to the State Board of Equalization

In the rare event (only happened once in the past 2 reappraisal cycles) that the Shelby County Tax Assessor appeals the value set by the Shelby County Board of Equalization to the State Board of Equalization, we charge a fee of $250. This is a very time-consuming process, which includes a hearing before an administrative judge and the Assessor's Office.

We collect upfront for all services. Venmo is the preferred form of payment.
